U.S. customs 101: essential training for exporting to the U.S. market

Demystify U.S. Customs with U.S. Customs 101 training

The United States is Canada’s largest trading partner. It should also be noted that nearly 80% of Canadian companies that export to the United States act as an Importer of Record (IOR).

This means that they act as the importer of record for their products in the United States, even if they do not have a physical presence there. They are therefore responsible for all financial transactions (duties and taxes) and must maintain books and records related to customs declarations.

CQI offers to demystify U.S. customs to help you understand the regulations related to importing goods into the United States, evaluate the inherent costs (brokerage fees, customs duties, MPF, etc.) and better understand the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA).
